I was at a friends house (whom I am no longer friends with) his main screen the one you see when u fully boot up your computer would turn like a cube so that u could have 4 different “main” screens and they would each run while the other screens were also running programs. I am trying to figure out what was used to do this. I know that he was using an illegal program a mix between vista and Xp from Russia. I would really like to figure out how to do this I keep reseaching this but to no avail.

This doesn’t sound like windows. It’s sounds like compiz on linux. Or it’s a copy of it.
I’d check out linux, if I were you:
Virtual Desktop Manager,
It’s called Beryl or xgl. It runs on Linux operating systems only. There is nothing like it available for Windows.
I use it and it’s pretty cool. Here’s a video:
It sounds he/she was running more than one operating system on one PC.
Could this be it-
Those different screens are called virtual (or sometimes “multiple”) desktops. I have no idea where the “cube” thing came from; I saw it in a video a couple months ago, but it was being demonstrated for Linux, not Windows. I know you can get virtual desktop programs, such as “VirtuaWin”; they don’t make your desktop into a cube, but they do give you multiple workspaces. It’s pretty cool
On the other hand, this technology is integrated into Linux (almost all versions, I believe) so if you want to try that you can too. Google for “virtual desktop Linux cube” or something like that. Hope you find what you’re looking for!
EDIT: zbalat knows what he’s talking about.
I’m pretty sure that’s Linux. They do the four desktop thing. I’m not familiar with a program for XP to do multiple desktops.
I agree with the commenters above, Linux is pretty cool if you know what you’re doing. If you’re computer competent and willing to learn a new OS, I’d recommend it. But Windows is just fine if you’re a normal user.
It’s the Compiz running on a distro like or. Try them, they are ideally suited for begginers (no drivers or complicated configurations required), and you don’t even need to install them to try them, just boot from the disk and run them in Live-CD mode.
